This Christmas we have teamed up with Sarah of Thread The Word, a hand embroidery artist working in South East London. Sarah stitches every initial by hand, one stocking at a time. It turns a stocking into their stocking, and a future family heirloom in the making.

A generous quilted organic cotton Christmas stocking in Carousel Jam, made to be kept rather than replaced. Fully quilted and lined in cotton throughout for an extra plush feel, and at around 24 x 60 cm it's roomy enough for a proper haul, with a hanging loop for the mantel, the bannister or the end of the bed. The one that gets brought down from the loft every year, for years.

Each stocking is hand block-printed at our small, family-run factory in Jaipur. The pattern is carved by hand into wooden blocks, then built up colour by colour by master printers, so every one carries the small marks of a human hand and no two are quite the same.

Pre-order and delivery

  • Plain stockings dispatch from 1 November
  • Monogrammed stockings arrive in the first week of December, ready to deck the halls
  • Monogram orders close 5 November, or sooner if Sarah's slots fill
  • Ordering other pieces too? They ship from our warehouse as usual, and your monogrammed stocking follows separately once Sarah has stitched it

FAQ

Can I personalise my stocking? Yes. Tick "Add a hand-stitched monogram" and choose your initial. Sarah of Thread The Word embroiders it by hand for £20, in a contrasting colour chosen to suit the print.

When will my stocking arrive? Plain stockings dispatch from 1 November. Monogrammed stockings are stitched to order and arrive in the first week of December. The cut-off for monogram orders is 5 November.

Can I return a monogrammed stocking? Personalised stockings are made just for you, so they can't be returned unless faulty. Plain stockings follow our usual returns policy.
